THE SYMBOL OF MALT WHISKY PRODUCTION IN SCOTLAND
Our logo represents an aerial perspective of an iconic Doig ventilator, a functional and aesthetic architectural feature of a distillery maltings. Often referred to as a ‘pagoda’, the conical chimney serves to draw warm air from the malt kiln through the barley during the malting process.
It is a respectful nod to the renowned distillery architect of the late 19th Century, Charles Chree Doig, whose design has become a distinctive feature of many a Scotch whisky distillery and which indeed has become a symbol of malt whisky production in Scotland.
Our brand colours are inspired by the copper patina of pots stills, condensers, some mash tun domes and the vibrant copper oxide deposits within the spirit safes of some distilleries.
The bright verdigris is formed through the contact and, indeed, conversation between the spirit and copper during the distillation process.
